Short version: some links to tool websites are affiliate links. If you subscribe after clicking one, we may earn a commission. You pay the same either way, and it changes nothing about our listings or scores.

What this means in practice

When you click a link to a tool's website, you pass through a redirect on this domain (/go/…) before landing on the vendor's site. That redirect exists so we can count the click for our own analytics and, where an affiliate programme is in place, attribute the referral. It is marked sponsored nofollow and excluded from search-engine crawling.

Most tools in this index have no affiliate programme, and those pages earn us nothing. They are listed and scored identically.

What affiliate status does not affect

• Inclusion. Tools are selected on category coverage and relevance, never on commercial terms.
• Score. The six scoring criteria contain no commercial input. See how we rate.
• Ranking order. Lists are ordered by score and stated "best for" fit, not by commission.
• Drawbacks. Sourced criticism stays on the page regardless of the commercial relationship.

Why we disclose it this way

US FTC guidance requires that material connections be disclosed clearly and near the relevant links, and we think readers deserve better than a line of grey text in a footer. So the disclosure appears on every page carrying outbound tool links, in plain language, and this page states the mechanics in full.
